Mongoose Acquires Dark Conspiracy - Coming 2026!

Hi all - just wanted to say that Matt has kindly agreed to allow me to interview him about Mongoose's acquisition of Dark Conspiracy. I'll be posting this up on my DC fan site (Google - 'dark conspiracy the rpg dot com' and you should find it - sorry newly returned to these forums and I can't post links yet :P).

Late to the forum here I know, but if you have any specific questions you'd like me to raise with Matt, feel free to post them here or DM me directly.

Marcus

Interesting interview.
Initial thoughts.
I like the three book idea
I must remind Matt that aliens arrived on Earth during the 40s... the alien conspiracies are real I tell you.
(It's also the aliens that release the darkness - but I have some ideas about that too...)

as an aside the pod of the DC rules I ordered from drivethru arrived today - the standard is pretty good and the interior colour plates are still in colour :)

Just to let people know that there is a Dark Conspiracy RPG Fans Group on Facebook so look us up over there if you want to.
I'll post a link when I'm allowed to, I'm currently under the n00b rules on this forum which feels a bit weird aged 60! 😉

I have Conspiracy X, Dark Matter, Call of Cthulhu, Rivers of London, Liminal Horror, Old Gods of Appalachia, plus a whole lot more.
I wanted to add to this thanks to digging through my shelves looking for Conspiracy X books.

The Alternity, then later d20 Modern, Dark Matter setting has a lot of stuff ripe for stealing to throw in the melting pot for the new DC Book 1 - i.e. before the big dark minion reveal.

Oh, and the Magnus Archives or course...

For those who may be interested there is a long-established Dark Conspiracy Fans group on Facebook so look us up over there if you want
I also maintain a DC Fans Bluesky account where I post links to things that relate to RPGs in the conspiracy-horror-cyberpunk-weirdness genres, although there's not much on there at the moment. Maybe we can build that up a bit.

Now to seriously consider if it's worthwhile resurrecting my old fanzine idea.

Cheers!

I’m still on the fence. I’ll need to see what Traveller products come out of it as it doesn’t sound (based on the interview I listened to) that it’s really aimed at Traveller.
